The adrenal glands are small glands that sit above your kidneys. The Adrenals are responsible for several different hormone productions, including your sex hormones. Perhaps, the most notable of these hormones is cortisol. You may have heard it before that cortisol is your stress hormone. Most of us have also been told that this hormone is known to cause weight gain. However, cortisol does many more important jobs in the body than just that.
